HOMEGROWN SUCCESS

As I wrap up my first month here at Aurora Financial Strategies, I am super thankful to work with Billy Cardwell and Austin Crites.  As a client of Aurora Financial Strategies for four years prior to my employment, I chose Billy as my CFP because of his relationships within the community and his mission to run a smaller firm that seemed to care more about the clients rather than the dollar signs at the end of the day. As a 19-year-old who wanted to acquire more knowledge about saving and investing, I appreciated his willingness to help me learn and to set the course toward my financial future. Now as an employee, I am grateful for Billy and Austin’s willingness to help me grow while learning a new industry. Working in a field that interests you is important, but what truly matters are the people that you surround yourself with. Luckily, I get to surround myself with educated, quirky finance guys who happen to love sports and helping others just as much as I do. (Go Cubs!)

Working for Aurora Financial Strategies has already served as an added perk, considering my boss lets me buy the good snacks, haha! 😊 On a more serious note, Aurora Financial Strategies has already allowed me to grow my knowledge in the world of business, marketing, and finance while using my extensive communication background to build rapport with current clients and prospects. I am excited to enhance my knowledge as time goes on, but also excited to be helping individuals within our community escape the weight and uncertainty that financial burdens can add to their lives.

Growing up in Howard County, I never realized how great of a place this is. After venturing out for a brief extent of time between Chicago and Indy, home was always the middle place of the two and it also was the place I missed spending my time the most. Working in Kokomo serving as the Client Service Coordinator has given me back the opportunity to grab a delicious salad at Windmill Grill or make a dash for a mid-day treat at Cone Palace, but more importantly— it has allowed me to connect with those who, like me, do not take for granted what our community has to offer. To say I am super grateful to work for a firm that loves this community and the people within it would be an understatement. I look forward to growing with Aurora Financial Strategies and implementing my passion for the people of Howard County along the way.
