Why I Chose to Join Aurora Financial Strategies

I joined Aurora Financial Strategies for multiple reasons, but the most important to me was the ability to do what’s best for my clients

In my past experience as an advisor, I had set minimums for certain products that my company created for each Advisor. That business structure did not align with my values, and what I believe an advisor should be to a client. I define a financial advisor as a knowledgeable resource to a client regarding all things in their personal financial picture. This advisor should be able to think without emotion while providing the best available advice. Most importantly, communicate with the client in a way that someone who does not work in this industry can understand.

I think AFS provides great value to its clients not only with a fee structure that is well below industry standards, but also in the financial planning sphere. Most companies charge an additional flat fee of $1,200 to $2,400 to create a financial plan for a client. At AFS this is something we do for clients at no additional cost. This is a great value add and allows clients to make sense of why visually and mathematically, we are creating and implementing the recommendations in each plan. I believe AFS also adds value to me because I get professional asset management from Austin and financial planning support from Reed. All of these additional resources are passed down to my clients, which greatly adds to the benefits they receive. This also allows me time to create more relationships and continue to grow my practice as well.

Lastly, at the risk of growing Billy’s ego, I have always respected Billy. Not many people understand how much work and determination it takes to grow a practice like Billy’s from scratch. This is a testament to hard work and knowledge in the space. I think anyone would be lucky to learn and be in the same environment as him. I look forward to continuing to help every current and provide support to future clients! I am excited to be a part of the AFS community and to what the future holds!
